Online Program Information

  • Radiologic Technology Online

Southeast Community College is at the leading edge of distance education in the field of Radiologic Technology. Twenty-nine years of experience in the field of radiography has provided us with a sound, quality curriculum as well as a model for the development of strong clinical affiliations. In July 2000, we began a JRCERT accredited, satellite-based distance program with two distance sites in Nebraska. We transitioned to a Web-based format and are the first accredited, online Radiography program in the United States. Since June 2002, we have graduated more than 500 distance Radiography students. Registry results demonstrate a 98-percent pass rate for program students. Our distance students exhibit superb skills and abilities in radiography, assuring program and college officials of the efficacy of distance education.

    Program Testimonial

Jolene-Sterkel_web"Overall, my experience with SCC’s online Radiologic Technology program was very fulfilling. It prepared me well for my career as a Radiologic Technologist. Technology seemed to be advancing quite rapidly as I entered the program, and the instruction seemed to adapt well to those changes. Two major factors collided that made me decide to enroll at SCC: the personal desire to obtain my degree working in the medical field and the ability to keep my current job and work part-time while attending school. This was a must for my situation. I learned about SCC’s online program when the hospital I was working at acquired an SCC student. I had searched other programs prior to that and was unsuccessful at finding an online program. I would definitely recommend the program. The two years absolutely flew by! I really enjoyed my instructors, and even though it was online, they were very accessible. My classmates were awesome! Getting to know people while communicating solely through the written word is a very unique experience and one that I believe everyone would benefit from."
