Scheduling An Advising Appointment

  • Academic Transfer and Pre-health Advisors are available to assist you throughout your entire time here at SCC as you strive to reach your educational goals.

Because most advising related issues are complex in nature, we request that you make an appointment to allow for adequate time to get all of your questions answered. Scheduling an appointment ensures there is plenty of time to develop academic and transfer plans.

    • Because we schedule appointments back-to-back, it is very important to be on time.  If you are late, we may not have enough time to adequately address all of the complex issues involved in academic planning.  If you are more than 10 - 15 minutes late, you may be asked to reschedule your appointment.
    • If you cannot attend your scheduled appointment, please call the numbers listed below to cancel or reschedule.
    • Beatrice Students
Visit to schedule an advising appointment in Beatrice. Advising appointments will be held in the Welcome Center Room K118, located in the Kennedy Center. Walk-ins will be accommodated as scheduling allows, but appointments are strongly encouraged.
    • Lincoln Students
Call 402-437-2445, 402-437-2470 or 402-437-2260 to schedule an appointment. You will check in for your appointment in Room V01, located in the lower level V section (not the V section marked Student Services) on the Lincoln Campus map.

    Email Advising

If you have a general question, Academic Transfer students can e-mail

    • Include a brief description of your question in the subject line.
    • In the body of the e-mail, include your full name and SCC ID number, and provide as many details as possible so that we can adequately answer your question.  If your question is too complex, you may be asked to schedule an appointment.
    • Allow 1-2 business days for a response, particularly during busy registration periods.

Examples of General Questions for E-mail:

    • Will SPAN1010 fulfill a humanities requirement?
    • When does registration begin for the fall semester?
    • Are tutors available for math?
    • When is the last day to drop a class and get a refund?

Examples of Questions that will Require Scheduling an Appointment:

    • Which math class should I take after Intermediate Algebra?
    • I'm struggling in my Philosophy class, should I drop it?
    • What courses do I need to take each semester in order to graduate in two years?
    • Will my SCC classes transfer to the 4-year school I want to attend?
    • I loved my Psychology class and would like to major in it, but I heard you can’t do anything with a Psych major. Is that true?
