What Your Peers Are Saying?

Jordan Klute

President of Klute Inc.

The benefit of the apprenticeship program is creating a talent pipeline. The apprenticeship program is going to allow us to create a structured internship program in order to provide a good experience for the students. They will not only be learning the skills they need to graduate, but also gaining job skills, how to be a professional employee, and what all that means. I think that is as important as figuring out a career path.

Twilya L'Ecuyer

SCC Apprentice Director

Giving future students diversity and a choice as they become available will be huge for the College. The data shows young people are trying to figure out what their life will look like if they choose this path. If we can give them a snapshot of what that looks like, it helps them visualize how they fit in.

Available Apprenticeship Programs

With programs spanning healthcare, skilled trades, technology, business, and more, SCC can partner with you to create an apprenticeship pathway that aligns academic coursework with your company's specific training requirements.

Common Questions from Employers

How much paperwork is involved for us?

Minimal. SCC acts as the program sponsor, handling all Department of Labor registration, compliance documentation, and reporting. You focus on training.

What if we don't have existing training infrastructure?

That's fine. We'll help you develop a structured training plan. Many of our partners started with informal training and we helped them formalize it.

Can we start with just one apprentice?

Absolutely. Many partners start with a pilot group of 1-2 apprentices, then scale up.

What if an apprentice doesn't work out?

Like any employee, apprentices can be terminated if they're not meeting expectations. We work with you on performance management.

How long does it take to get started?

From initial consultation to first apprentice hired: typically 3-4 months.

What if we're outside the Lincoln/Beatrice area?

We serve all of southeast Nebraska. We'll work with you on delivery methods—including online, hybrid, or cohort-based instruction at your facility if you have multiple apprentices.
