Motorcycle Safety


SCC offers classes in Motorcycle Safety and are approved by the DMV for licensing.

To add a motorcycle endorsement, a valid Nebraska license is required. All members of SCC’s instructional staff are MSF Certified and approved by the state of Nebraska.

Beginning Rider's Course

This 18-hour course is intended for beginning riders of any age and is designed to teach safe motorcycle operation. Lecture presentations occur both online and at a physical location.

The eCourse requires the student to:
  • Successfully complete the eCourse one week prior to the hands on training
  • Have access to high-speed internet
Please Note:
  • Approximately three weeks before the start date of the course, an email and letter will be sent with instructions on how to access the eCourse.

  • Student must be at least 16 and able to balance and ride a bicycle.
  • Students age 16 and 17 must have waiver of liability signed by parent or guardian. Failure to provide will disqualify participation in class and a refund will not be available.

  • Dept. of Transportation approved helmet and eye protection
  • over-the-ankle footwear
  • long-sleeve shirt or jacket
  • long non-flare denim pants or equivalent
  • full-fingered gloves, preferably leather

Does SCC provide the motorcycles?
Yes. Most of the motorcycles are 250cc models with lower seat height and lower dry weight.
 
Do you have to have a driver’s license to take motorcycle training?
Yes. An operator license or learner permit is required.
 
If it’s raining, will class be held?
Yes. Class only will be delayed for thunderstorms. Plan and dress accordingly.
