That's right! Ninety-three percent of SCC's 2014-2015 graduates found work or continued their education.
Welcome to SCC's Long Term Care Administration program.
Developed in cooperation with many long term care administrators in
the profession, this degree provides an excellent foundation for
individuals who desire advancement in long term care or an
administrative position. This program is online only and is one of
the few programs of its kind in the United States that offers an
Associate of Applied Science degree. General education classes may
be taken online or face-to-face. An administrator is the chief
executive responsible for planning, organizing, leading and
supervising the operations of a home for the aged licensed by
Health and Human Services. Specific duties include budget
administration, personnel activities, supervision, public
relations, leading regulatory changes, and facility management.
Students will need to complete an administrator-in-training program
according to their states' requirements. This is in addition to the
student's degree and not part of the curriculum. After educational
and the state-specific AIT program, the student will need to take
and pass a national exam, National Association of Long Term Care
Administrator Boards for licensure requirements. Some states will
require a state exam.
