Program Description

If you strive to serve others in non-commercial organizations such as hospitals, schools, long-term care and corrections facilities, our Dietary Manager program is the perfect fit for you. Our program is offered online and can be completed in as little as one semester. We have designed the program to prepare you for management of Food and Nutrition Services departments.

You can start the Dietary Manager program in Fall, Spring or summer terms. Follow these steps to finish your application:

  2. Need help exploring career opportunities or navigating the admissions process? Schedule an appointment with an Admissions Counselor.
  3. Ready to apply? Complete an Application for Admission.
  4. Submit ACT, SAT, Next Generation Accuplacer, or Accuplacer test scores (reading and math) or official college transcripts showing completion of post-secondary coursework in English and math to the Admissions Office at any SCC location.

Special Program Requirement:

  • A grade of “C” or higher is required for all Dietary Manager courses to graduate from the program.

Approvals and Affiliations

This program is approved by the Association of Nutrition & Foodservice Professionals (ANFP); students are eligible for ANFP Pre-Professional membership. Graduates of this program are eligible for professional membership to ANFP and are eligible to sit for the CDM®, CFPP® Credentialing exam. The CDM®, CFPP® credential meets the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) regulations requirement for directors of food and nutrition at Long-Term Care Facilities.

State Authorization Reciprocity Agreement Institution

Southeast Community College is a State Authorization Reciprocity Agreement Institution (NC-SARA) institution. As such, SCC is unable to offer online or distance courses to students in the following areas at this time: American Samoa, Guam and the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands.

States where licensure or certification requirements are met by this program’s curriculum – Nebraska. Please go to the Certifying Board for Dietary Managerswebsite for more information about other states.

Students who successfully complete this program may sit for the nationally recognized CDM® Credentialing Exam offered through the Certifying Board for Dietary Managers (CBDM).

Other States may have additional educational requirements, and SCC has not made a determination of whether or not this program’s curriculum meets the educational requirements of any other State.
