Next Generation ACCUPLACER®

  • We’re excited to welcome you to Southeast Community College. As part of the application process, students are required to provide placement scores. SCC offers the Next Generation ACCUPLACER® to help students meet this requirement. Because of the current COVID-19 situation, we are temporarily testing remotely using Zoom. Please read the information carefully to help you prepare to take the Next Generation ACCUPLACER®.

    Please note that you will need a computer (desktop or laptop) with a webcam and audio capabilities. Cell phones and tablets will not meet the requirements for testing.

    Prior to scheduling a testing appointment, please follow these steps:

    1. Go to the Zoom website, download and install Zoom.
    2. Check that Zoom was set up correctly. Please use the option to join with video.
    3. Check that your computer can run ACCUPLACER®.
    4. Go to ACCUPLACER® and click the “verify system” button near the bottom right hand side of the page to ensure that your computer is ready for the test. If your computer meets the requirements, you will see green “Pass” boxes in “Pass/Fail” column.

    After you successfully complete the steps outlined above, contact the Testing & Assessment Center nearest your location to schedule a time to take the Next Generation ACCUPLACER®. Send an email with your name, date of birth, and request to:

    Testing & Assessment Center staff will respond to your request and provide additional information about the remote testing process. Please be sure to regularly monitor your email after submitting your request. Next Generation ACCUPLACER® testing requires a pre-scheduled appointment; your prompt response to our emails will ensure that we are able to assist as many students as possible.
