Diesel-Ag Equipment Service Tech

    SCCs Diesel-Ag Equipment Service Technology program provides extensive up-to-date training in the farming industry and incorporates new technology in the instruction. Electronics have become the norm in all phases of the agricultural industry. Program students learn basic electronics and its application to farm machinery. In addition, students are instructed on the latest innovations in hydraulics, power trains, engines, and fuel injection systems.

    Overview

    The Diesel-Ag Equipment Service Technology program is a four semester program. Students are on campus for lecture/lab courses. Then have a unique opportunity to demonstrate the knowledge they have learned on campus at a cooperative education work station. During this experience, the student is paid, helping offset the costs of college. The program is fully accredited.

    Mission

    The mission of the Diesel-Ag Equipment Service Technology program is to prepare individuals for employment as high-quality entry-level agricultural equipment service technicians in agricultural equipment dealerships and related industries.

    Employment Outlook

    The number of jobs for diesel service technicians and mechanics is projected to grow about as fast as average. Opportunities should be very good for people who complete formal training in diesel mechanics. SCC graduates report an average annual starting salary of $42,536.
